Mariam Yehya Ibrahim, the Sudanese Christian woman who was sentenced to death in Sudan because of her faith, arrived in Rome on Thursday, (via Italian Government) She will remain in Italy for several days and then travel on to the US. In Sudan, government said Ibrahim was guilty of rejecting Islam in favor of Christianity, but her conviction was overturned after much ado. After released she and her husband were detained for 2 more days due to documents.They were trying to fly to US since her husband was a US citizen, but Italian government intervened and they fly to Rome where she met with the POPE and he gave her a rosario. Her dream of starting a new life in the US will become a reality.
