Renee Zellweger addresses all the talk about her totally different face

The internet went batsh*t crazy yesterday with reactions to new pictures of actress Renee Zellweger, as she appeared on the red carpet in Beverly Hills looking almost unrecognisable, with what literally seemed to be a totally different face.

She’s been bombarded with criticism and plastic surgery speculation since the photos appeared online, but speaking in a statement to People magazine, she insists that she’s glad people have recognised a difference in her looks, and attributes the change to a ‘happy, more fulfilling life’.

Right-o.

The Bridget Jones star said: “I’m glad folks think I look different! I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows.”

Explaining her decision to address all the talk about her transformation, Renee continued: “It seems the folks who come digging around for some nefarious truth which doesn’t exist won’t get off my porch until I answer the door.”

“My friends say that I look peaceful. I am healthy. For a long time I wasn’t doing such a good job with that. I took on a schedule that is not realistically sustainable and didn’t allow for taking care of myself. Rather than stopping to recalibrate, I kept running until I was depleted and made bad choices about how to conceal the exhaustion. I was aware of the chaos and finally chose different things.”
Just a thought. Instead of rushing to scrutinise every inch of her face, joking about impostors and botch-jobs, and picking to pieces everything she’s said about it, we should probably all stop and think about the fact a hugely successful and very talented actress has felt the need to ENTIRELY transform her appearance to find happiness.
